Perhaps the greatest thing about creating the life you want is the excitement you get about coming back to it after a long vacation. Montana was nice but Kentucky sure feels good, too. (I’m finally warm again!)
The highlight of the trip for me came on the last night when we drove to Bigfork, Montana to see Urinetown, The Musical at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse.
Of course the play script and music are well-written, but the talent in the cast at this playhouse was simply outstanding. Cory Warren, my personal favorite, along with Charlotte Munson, David Errigo, Rebecca Myers, Eric Mann, Quinn Butterfield, Annie Janson, and the others had us laughing so hard we nearly . . . okay – not going to go there with the pun!
As promised, I’m going to give you my list of favorite restaurants in the area. Here they are in order of my favorite:
North Bay Grille, Kalispell, Lunch and Dinner – my favorite because the food, staff, and atmosphere were perfect both times we were there. A can’t miss in my book.
Capers, Kalispell, Dinner only – so good I wanted to go back and we tried, but they were not open for lunch and our schedule didn’t coincide for dinner another night. (Although there was one night, one restaurant, one experience I wish we had driven back to Kalispell, but that’s another post.)
Belton Chalet, West Glacier, Dinner only – excellent food and service, third only because, well, not everyone can be first or second!
La Provence, Bigfork, Dinner and Deli – the closest I’ve ever had to true French Country cooking. I ordered the chef’s feature for that evening and was making those “Oooo” and “Ahhh” sounds through the entire meal.
Just inside the west entrance to the park, West Glacier Restaurant is very crowded and for a good reason – they serve great food. We had lunch there and were delighted. My only regret was that I didn’t have room to try some huckleberry pie.
“Moose Tracks” ice cream at the Apgar Village Restaurant is touted as being the best in the park – and the reputation is well-earned!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos and de-briefs. I’ll be back to my regular writing on Friday.
Until next time,
Live Joyfully!
